We always talk about how much we like our brides and grooms, it’s really important for us to find people who are easy going and just want to have a good time at their wedding. Kristina and Chris were exactly that.

They chose to get married in Long Beach on Long Island, right around the corner from where Rob used to live. We initially ran into them at a local barbecue restaurant and casually talked about shooting their wedding. Months later, there we were hanging out barefoot on the boardwalk we had spent all summer on.

We started the day at the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach, followed by a reception at Bridgeview Yacht Club in Island Park. Read on to see some of our favorites. Read the rest of this entry …

Hurricane Sandy was not stopping this wedding! Less than a week later, with much of the tri-state still without power, some without water, and many still without homes, the show went on. A welcomed distraction to the otherwise very chaotic week.

I’m starting to feel like a broken record, but Kim and Jason are an awesome couple and really could not be easier to work with. It’s great that we’ve attracted couples that really care about the photography, making our lives very easy. Spend half an hour in November outside in just a wedding dress. Sure, no problem.

We met Kim and Jason through Jason’s sister Jen, who at this point is basically responsible for half my clients, either directly or indirectly. Jen has became a great friend, so it was extra important to us we did not disappoint. Here’s some of our favorites from the day. Read the rest of this entry …

I know you remember these two from our Coney Island engagement shoot. Such an awesome couple! Their wedding was amazing, we can’t wait to share the photos. Stay tuned, they’re coming soon. In the meantime, check out Lindsay and Jason’s photo booth vid.

We hope you all had a great holiday and new year, and welcome to our first 2013 post. It’s been too long, but we have lots of photos to share from the final two months of the year. And what better way to kick it off then with Jackie and Andy’s Bronx Zoo wedding!?

A Bronx Zoo wedding, an awesome couple, and the fact that we have photographed (or are photographing) almost half of the bridal party’s weddings made this one of our most anticipated weddings of the entire year. I’ve known Jackie for several years now, and I owe much of my wedding career to her sister Jen, who hired me basically for my first “real” wedding. We had a blast celebrating with Jackie and Andy, and can’t wait for the next bridesmaid to get married!

Check out some of our favorites from the day, including the surprise semi-choreographed dance by Andy’s animal suited groomsmen to “In the Jungle”. Just check the looks on their face if you doubt this was a surprise. And unfortunately the big cats were already brought in by the time we showed up for photos. Not sure how cooperative they would’ve been anyway. Read the rest of this entry …

Shooting another photographers wedding can be challenging, but can also make life much simpler. They know what works, and they bring ideas to the table your average couple just won’t. But its even more challenging when the photographer/client is a great friend. Then you REALLY don’t want to mess anything up. Hal (halhorowitz.com), much like myself, is a music and editorial photographer moonlighting as wedding photographer. We’ve become friends over the years, and we were of course stoked to be part of his wedding. The weather thankfully cooperated just enough to be able to do most of our photos outside at the Picnic House in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Though unfortunately the cermony had to be held inside. But it certainly did not damper the mood! Everything from writing their own vows to Hal’s guest vocals on Jumping Jack Flash, this was one of the more personal, intimate, and overall fun weddings we’ve been to. We were treated like guests, and even spent some time with cameras down on the dance floor. Read the rest of this entry …

This is a big wedding for us, but mostly for me. Jenni’s my best friends sister, and I’ve known her almost 20 years! I knew she’d be in good hands with Lindsay and I, and if anything we put extra pressure on ourselves to really knock it out of the park. I think it goes without saying we’re truly excited and honored to be part of their wedding day.

So, did I mention it was windy. Like sand blasting windy. While the temperature was perfect, the wind was such a factor we basically had to find locations that could give us (and Jenni’s hair) a little relief. It’s of course easier working with friends, and Jenni and Kevin are both super easy to work with. Though we have a feeling Kevin’s been moonlighting as a catalog model. Check out a few from our windblown shoot! Read the rest of this entry …

I’ve known Lindsay for a couple years, but in her typical role she’s hiring me to take pictures of other people. Like the time our shoot with Snooki got a little too much attention from people on the street. Or when we spent a few hours with the awesome Neil Patrick-Harris, who basically gave his blue steele for 500 straight photos.

Lindsay and I been talking about mixing up our locations lately, and one spot we’ve yet to take advantage of in the NYC was Coney Island. I got to say, it was pretty overwhelming! Every where you look is an amazing wall, interesting shapes, and bright colors. Then add the beach, ocean, and sunset to the mix. No wonder we crushed our previous record for engagement photos taken. We even went on a few rides.

We had an awesome time with Lindsay and Jason, and we can’t wait for their wedding. Check out some of our favorites! Read the rest of this entry …

I’ve known Jared for over 10 years now, and Jeannie for more than half that. While it’s not too uncommon for us to know the bride or groom prior to the wedding, it is not too common to know half the wedding. I was dominant on the dance floor at Jared’s brothers wedding and shot Jared’s cousins wedding (Lindsay and I’s first wedding, Madea and Bobby). Not to mention several of my close friends were in attendance. And to make the day even easier, Jeannie and Jared actually tied the knot in Hawaii the previous month. So no ceremony, and they all got ready in the same house a mile from the Oceanbleau Westhampton. It was like a destination wedding, less than 60 miles from home.

We started the day off at the two beautiful homes they rented on the water in Westhampton where we did some photos before moving down the street for the party. Here’s our favorites – Read the rest of this entry …
