It’s crazy to think nearly 20 years have past since Greg and I last saw each other. It was really awesome to reconnect with him, and to meet his lovely fiance Anya. And it was even more amazing that we’d be shooting their wedding two months later on the beach in Mexico. Those pics are coming soon. But in the meantime…
We met them for a drink and some pizza, and hit the streets of Brooklyn. Our normal approach is to not plan too much, we like the engagement shoot to be casual. Some things you’ll notice about Greg and Anya. They like to jump, they smile and laugh a lot, and are pretty much up for anything we’d ask. You will also notice all of the above when we post the wedding photos.

After four flights in a week and several thousand photos (and cocktails), we finally arrived in Lindsay’s hometown of San Diego for our engagement shoot with Kirby and Ian. Not that we’re complaining. We spent four nights in Playa del Carmen for a wedding (pictures coming soon) and another four nights in Austin, TX shooting some music at South by Southwest (photos also coming soon).
Lately we’ve been really making the bi-coastal push, and Kirby and Ian were our first joint shoot in California. We spent the last few hours of daylight on the beach where Ian proposed to Kirby. And this is why I love California. All of the photos were taken within a 50 yard radius. That just does not happen here in NYC. I’ll always be a New Yorker, but those wedding photogs out in California really have it easy. You just can’t beat the locations and weather.
We’re really looking forward to their Carmel, CA wedding in September, and we’ll be sure to share their photos. Enjoy!

This is a big wedding for us, but mostly for me. Jenni’s my best friends sister, and I’ve known her almost 20 years! I knew she’d be in good hands with Lindsay and I, and if anything we put extra pressure on ourselves to really knock it out of the park. I think it goes without saying we’re truly excited and honored to be part of their wedding day.
So, did I mention it was windy. Like sand blasting windy. While the temperature was perfect, the wind was such a factor we basically had to find locations that could give us (and Jenni’s hair) a little relief. It’s of course easier working with friends, and Jenni and Kevin are both super easy to work with. Though we have a feeling Kevin’s been moonlighting as a catalog model. Check out a few from our windblown shoot! Read the rest of this entry …
I’ve known Lindsay for a couple years, but in her typical role she’s hiring me to take pictures of other people. Like the time our shoot with Snooki got a little too much attention from people on the street. Or when we spent a few hours with the awesome Neil Patrick-Harris, who basically gave his blue steele for 500 straight photos.
Lindsay and I been talking about mixing up our locations lately, and one spot we’ve yet to take advantage of in the NYC was Coney Island. I got to say, it was pretty overwhelming! Every where you look is an amazing wall, interesting shapes, and bright colors. Then add the beach, ocean, and sunset to the mix. No wonder we crushed our previous record for engagement photos taken. We even went on a few rides.
We had an awesome time with Lindsay and Jason, and we can’t wait for their wedding. Check out some of our favorites! Read the rest of this entry …
There is pretty much no better way to describe JJ and Cristina other then fun, and wonderful to be around. Rob has known JJ for a little over 10 years and just recently reconnected at an old friends band show. We were delighted when they asked us to shoot their wedding and as usual, scheduled an engagement session.
JJ and Cristina actually met in San Diego (my home town!) but now live in New York, So they wanted some iconic New York imagery in their photos. They chose a rooftop and to walk around in the streets of Time Square. It turned out to be a great day to shoot with mild weather and nice cloud cover that made for great light.
I know its cheesy but I am serious when I say how much I end up liking our brides and grooms. It is really important to get along with the couples we shoot because we end up spending a lot of time with them on the day of the wedding. JJ and Cristina are no exception, our day of shooting was followed by amazing dinner and drinks at Budakhan. Thanks again JJ and Cristina you guys are seriously awesome and hopefully we can get together again soon!!

When shooting weddings Rob and I find it really important to get along with our brides and grooms. Weddings are a long day and we spend a lot of time together so having good chemistry between us and the couple is crucial. Jeanmarie and Ryan are no exception. They are both such kind, generous, and wonderful people. And SO much fun! So much fun that our post session dinner turned into a full night out on the town celebrating Cinco de Mayo, complete with oyster shooters and margaritas.
The engagement session took place in Baltimore at some of their favorite Federal Hill spots. Jeanmarie was super prepared with a couple locations already scouted and a few different outfit changes. This allowed for plenty of time for a few impromptu shots around their home.

It’s possible I’ve photographed Mike more than any human on the planet. We attended the same high school and college, played on multiple soccer teams, traveled quite a bit together, and have been roommates in three different states. If it wasn’t for wedding party responsibilities I would have insisted on being their wedding photographer. I’ll instead settle for dominating the dance floor at their wedding.
We were more than happy to be able to shoot their engagement photos. Mike found a great location, 5 Pointz, an outdoor graffiti exhibit space. We also did some shooting at Gantry Plaza State Park, in Long Island City. We’ll be back at Gantry in October, this time with tuxes. Check out some photos of our day, which would not have been possible without our assistant for the day, Dave “The Truth” Maiello.
