Shooting at The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs is nothing short of a dream. The grounds are sparse with an old school southwest feel. And the rooms are delicately decorated with vintage posters, records and cool thrift shop finds. Such a location was a perfect background for the wedding of my friend, and one time Brooklyn roommate, Amy and her new husband, Jordan. The mood of the day could not have been more true to who Amy is, and what I have come to know Jordan and Amy as a couple are. I spent most of the day hanging out shooting Amy in a cute vintage swimsuit with her friends, drinking champagne. The ceremony and day were just as relaxed as the couple, ending the ceremony with a shot shared between the couple and guests, and the reception eventually turning to a pool party. Have a look at some (a lot!) of our favorites.

We could not have enjoyed shooting this wedding more. We were more than happy making the cross country commute to capture Amy and Jordan’s day. Even if they live two miles from us back in New York.

And be sure to check out our friend Alex’s awesome travel blog. She dedicated a post to wedding festiviites as well – A Whiskey Shot Wedding in Palm Springs

We’d love to hear from you in the comments below. Or on Instagram (we have a new account!) for more weddings and some of our adventures. Or there’s always Facebook. Or twitter. Thanks for having a look.

  • [...] By the time we were breaking into the cupcakes (DON’T GET ME STARTED ON THE CUPCAKES) things were getting about as wild as you’d expect a wedding that started with whiskey shots to get. Even the photographers Rob and Lindsay — Lindsay was my former roommate in Brooklyn — got in on the fun. To truly appreciate how gorgeous this wedding was you’re going to need to check out their own blog post about it. [...]

Awesome pics Alex. Ahhh, the cupcakes. Sometimes there’s just no other option than licking the icing off your lens. For Lindsay at least.
